Welcome to our jewelry making community: imagine, create, share, & inspire!

Hi All,

I have now been learning wirework for about 5 months and have found a new passion. While I will never stop loving my stringing with gemstones, working with wire has been amazing!!

I thought I would share some wonderful suppliers and websites that cater to all things wire:

Websites for learning

1) www.jewelrylessons.com - this is a site I shared previously but they have tutorials (free and those you have to purchase) for everything from wirework to seed bead weaving

2) www.jatayu.com/Education/Education.htm - this is Connie Fox's website and this link will take you directly to a few of her tutorials - she also sells wire work supplies

3) http://wirejewelrylessons.blogspot.com/ - this is a link to Sharilyn Miller's blog - her books for beginning wire work are fabulous - she posts all sorts of tips, projects, info about tools etc on her blog

Websites for supplies: (I highly recommend starting with copper wire to learn - and if you are like me and love copper continue to use it as you become more skilled)

1) www.brandywinejewelrysupply.com - best prices i have found for square and half round copper wire

2) www.metalliferous.com - great place for round copper and sterling wire, sheet metal, tools etc

3) www.monsterslayer.com - another great site for copper, sterling, and brass wire, sheet metal and blanks, tools, findings, etc

These are just a few of the sites I frequent regularly just to "look around" since I have become fascinated with wire. Hope you all like exploring them as much as I do

Leigh :-)

See that and I'm everywhere and found you..lol. Can't argue with your list of suppliers either. I've bought from all of them and they are great. I particularly like Brandywine and Monsterslayer myself. One of the ladies at Brandywine went way out of her way to help me one time and I just think they are terrific.

Hi Lois - I can't believe I forgot to mention your store when I was writing this! The bracelets I have posted here were created using the wire that I purchased from you!!!!!!! - Leigh :-)

Hi Leigh,
I actually found your site through a search for copper wire and your blog came up. I've signed up and I'll check it out a bit later today. Nice to meet you and find other copper wire junkies.
