Addicted to Wire Work

Hi All,

I have now been learning wirework for about 5 months and have found a new passion. While I will never stop loving my stringing with gemstones, working with wire has been amazing!!

I thought I would share some wonderful suppliers and websites that cater to all things wire:

Websites for learning

1) www.jewelrylessons.com - this is a site I shared previously but they have tutorials (free and…

In this search I found a website called JewelryLessons.com This is a wonderful site that has step by step tutorials for wirework, stringing, bead weaving, metal working, polymer clay and the list goes on and on. There are also articles, book reviews, Q&A, and a gallery of designs!

Bracelets

Hi All,

I don't know about everyone else but I find myself forgetting that sometimes simple and elegant is better - especially when it comes to bracelets. Here recently I have begun to make bracelets - It is HOT here in TN and I have no desire to wear a necklace in this humidity - so I did what I always do and browsed the internet looking for ideas… Continue

Hi Leigh,
Thanks so much for your comment. I love your combination of gemstones in your necklaces also. Really like Fall Frenzy...I love Picasso Jasper. As far as my wirework goes, I went to one 1-hour workshop in wire wrapping with Carolyn Eddy at a local Gem Faire several years ago. Learned the basics from Carolyn and the rest is self-taught. The more I wrap, the more I like it. I'll keep watching your page...

Metal Beads on the Cheap

Metal Colored Glass Seed Beads

Let us face it already - metal is just outrageously priced right now! This is especially true of gold and silver. I remember back in the day when I could order loads of sterling silver or gold-filled wire and not think twice about the price. The same was true for metal beads that I could use as spacer beads when doing bead stringing. When stringing up beaded bracelets...
