I looked at your booth pictures and thought your setup was fantastic. Thanks for sharing all of the links on sites you found useful. I have not taken the craft fair plunge and this is mostly because of the time element AND good ole fear of failure.…

Hurdling my first Craft Fair!

So, if there are any others out there like me, timid and anxious about doing your first Craft Fair, you can visualize me in your corner cheering you on!Definitely go for it! Even if you aren't sure of the venue that you are selecting, I guarantee your first one will be an valuable learning experience.First, just some general advice coming from a newbie......I would pick an indoor venue for your first go, and select something that has a low entry price for your spot.Second, set up your table(s)…See More

Check with your bank. We opened a business checking account with Chase Bank and they offered credit card services through authorize.net and paymentic. We call in for authorization on clients credit card. They charge us $10.00 a month for the service.

Any Crafters have advice on getting set up as a Credit Card merchant for the upcoming fairs/festivals?

I currently do not have the ability to make credit card transactions for customers in person unless I am using online invoicing through Paypal. I have used this at my jewelry parties and it is fine for that purpose, but going into the craft fair season, I would like to be able to offer this option to buyers.Does anyone have any suggestions of the best way to go about becoming a credit card merchant? I understand there can be a lot of fees involved, and my monthly sales are minimal so I need to…See More

Why are you visiting?
I'm looking for project ideas, To make new friends
What is your favorite type of jewelry to make?
Necklaces/Pendants
Tell us about yourself! What makes you interesting, unique, funny, talented, or...?
I have always been an artist but have only in the last two years found my love.....jewelry-making.
My own obsession with accessorizing led me to this hobby two years ago. I wanted the perfect piece of jewelry for every outfit and the best way to do that was to make my own.
I fell in love!
When my friends and family starting encouraging me to make and sell jewelry, I decided to give it a shot.
I truly try to make each piece unique with a "one-of-a-kind" mission. Even if I get orders for the same piece over and over, I try to make that piece unique for that buyer.
I only make things that I would wear, so there is an eclectic feel to my collection. I dress to my mood and my jewelry is the same way.
I have only recently embarked on the journey of starting my own company, Bee's Knees Boutique, and it has been the most exciting, and scary, thing I have ever done.
The one thing I love most about this business though, is the incredible community of crafters and artists that I have found. The support is endless.
Life is short, do what you love!
My website is:

What is your favorite jewelry making style or medium?
gemstone beads, wirework
What best describes your style?
fun, unique, one-of-a-kind
What are your favorite colors in making jewelry?
I use the spectrum, but I have found that I tend to use a lot of cool colors. Green blue and purple.
What are your favorite beads and stones for making jewelry?
Swarovski crystals are my fav! I love glass beads and I use a lot of charms in my jewelry pieces.

My First Jewelry Party

My first party was this past Saturday night. My sister-in-law was good enough to host for me.

I only ended up with 9 guests, but honestly, for my first party that was plenty! It was a great learning experience for me and having a smaller group was a great way to warm up.

Thanks to Lorri's book I was very organized. I had remembered to bring my tools and that came in handy!! Two guests asked me to change the side that the clasp was on the necklace they had selected to make it… Continue

Just bought Lorri's book on starting my own Jewelry Parties

This could be a gift from the angels!
I have three parties booked for the upcoming fall season and I have never done one before!
I figured how hard could it be? Ha! That's me, bite off more than I can chew.

When I found this link online, I thought, no way! This is too good to be true.
This is exactly what I needed to help guide me through this process.
I want my anticipation to be born from excitement and not fear and this will help me do that.

Metal Beads on the Cheap

Metal Colored Glass Seed Beads

Let us face it already - metal is just outrageously priced right now! This is especially true of gold and silver. I remember back in the day when I could order loads of sterling silver or gold-filled wire and not think twice about the price. The same was true for metal beads that I could use as spacer beads when doing bead stringing. When stringing up beaded bracelets...
