Summer Festivals and Fairs

Summer is supposed to be here, but here in Northern California Wine Country the weather has been frustrating. Beautiful warm days with a gentle breeze and in the 70s. Then in a couple of days its 55 and raining. At least our 'golden' hills here in Sonoma County seem to be staying a little greener, a little longer.I want to announce that coming up on Saturday, June 19, 2010 I will be selling my handcrafted jewelry at the Cotati (CA) Jazz Festival in downtown Cotati, La Plaza Park. There will be…See More

What is your favorite type of jewelry to make?
Earrings, Necklaces/Pendants
Tell us about yourself! What makes you interesting, unique, funny, talented, or...?
Of course, I love jewelry...inherited that from my mom. I started making jewelry in 2004 and discovered I had a talent for it. I love the colors, the textures, and creating a unique piece of jewelry that you don't see on every woman walking down the street. No cookie cutter stuff for me.

Wire wrapping is one of my favorite things to do. I've made many necklaces incorporating wire wrapped, removable pendants using cabochons and faceted gemstones. Flexibility and variety are important to me...with removable pendants you can wear a handcrafted necklace with or without the pendant accessory. When I make my pendants I also make it so it can be worn front or back for even more flexibility.

I also provide a service to do necklace/earring repairs and restringing, and pearl strand re-knotting. Check out my Etsy webpage for online purchases. I've been busy creating pieces for festivals, fairs and home jewelry parties.
My website is:

Wow! I checked out your website and your wirework is gorgeous! This is something I have been wanting to try but have not yet taken the plunge. I would love to know if you are self taught, took classes etc to learn this. Any suggestions on the best way to learn? --- Leigh :-)
