My favorite suppliers are usually the local places. I used to live near Woodstock and they had a wonderful bead store: The Bead Emporium, but they closed. Then I moved to Cobleskill (north of Albany) and searched for local stores and found Bumble Beads in Latham and Bay Street Bead Works near Lake George. I like Bumble Beads a lot more for their selection, but some things I can get a pretty good price at Bay Street Bead Works. Although I do like Michael's and Jo-Ann's for some things. They're just so expensive since they're not wholesale. I also get little things like chain and ear wire from Wal-Mart.
Also! I, too, like Fire Mountain Gems and have made one order and was very pleased with my items. That's all I've found and ordered from online, though. I haven't had the funds to check any other places out, but I do like a lot of the suppliers on Etsy.com.
As far as packaging for my material, I will always order from Nashville Wraps. My previous employer ordered supplies from there and they're were my favorite. They have very nice materials for packaging: I get boxes and small bags from there.

My favs are obviously Michael's and Joann's, but Fusionbeads also has a great website and great prices. I love Auntie's Beads for their videos too.

I just started a new website called The Beader's Resource Guide. I'm most proud of the bead-buying resources I created - 3 separate, searchable databases on where to find beads. The best part is - ANYONE can immediately add a new listing to any of them. So I'm hoping other beaders will add their favorite stores if they don't see them on the list. Hopefully we can help each other out in our bead addictions! :)

Online Bead Store Database - over 100 links of online bead suppliers
Bead Shop Locator - I'm adding to this as I find them. Right now there are around 50+ stores I think.
Bead Show Listing - I love to attend bead shows, and have never seen a searchable list, so I made one!

Here is the link to the page with the addresses - click the big blue links!

Two other websites I have ordered from b/c I like unusual and unique beads are:

www.happymangobeads.com

www.beadsandpieces.com

Both of these websites carry wood, bone, shell, ethnic, trade beads, gemstones and so on. I have ordered items from both of these sites and have been VERY pleased with my purchases. Check them out and see what you think

A great website to stock up on the various sizes of round gemstones is South Pacific Wholesale. The guy who owns this company is a hoot! All you have to do is read his comments about the different beads and whatnot to see what I mean. Everything I have ordered from him has been great quality and much prettier than some of the more traditional websites that offer bulk discounts. Check it out!

I found that http://www.fetpak.com has a lot of great packaging, gift wrapping, display, and carrying supplies for great prices!

Metal Beads on the Cheap

Metal Colored Glass Seed Beads

Let us face it already - metal is just outrageously priced right now! This is especially true of gold and silver. I remember back in the day when I could order loads of sterling silver or gold-filled wire and not think twice about the price. The same was true for metal beads that I could use as spacer beads when doing bead stringing. When stringing up beaded bracelets...
