Welcome to our jewelry making community: imagine, create, share, & inspire!

I'm hoping someone has an answer to an ongoing issue I've been working on for months.
I am working on a line of jewelry for the BioElectric Shield http://www.bioelectricshield.com/Bio-Electric-Shields/View-all-prod...
and I have been stumped when it comes to a front clasp in gold-fill.
The silver clasp I found is simple and works, but not available in gold-fill (and truthfully could be a little more elegant sometimes).
The spiral hook isn't really secure enough and is too fancy and too long for some designs.
Because the Shield will be hung on the clasp, it really does need to be gold-fill rather than gold plate.
Any thoughts, solutions, sources would be hugely appreciated.
Carolyn

What size lobster claw are you looking for?
That's that hard part...so many of them are primarily measured in length, which isn't the important part. I've even had a couple that are big enough across, but then the opening isn't wide enough for anything other than a jump ring to slip through. The bail on the Shield is 3mm wide, I have a nice, but slightly boring clasp in sterling from Rings N Things #39-541-11 it's a 9mm X 15 and works perfectly.
And it could be a lobster...or anything that would securely do the job, but just haven't found another option that works well.
Thanks Leigh
What if you were to use the ring side of a bar and toggle clasp? I know this leaves the leftover bar but I looked through the places I order from and all of them are plain or too small for what you are looking for. This idea just popped in my head as a possibility - it might work!!?? Maybe !!//??
After I posted that last comment I realized I had been looking at one of your necklaces where the pendant did not have a bail - Oops. Here is a very simple trigger clasp that might be big enough - it is plain though

thank you for this...I'm going to order it and see how it works out. Over the weekend I came up with what I thought were great ideas...i.e two small clasps at the end of a chain, chain thru loop on top of Shield, then clasps link to ends of beaded necklace...but the one I did didn't hang quite right, kept going crooked...but still working on other options.
Thanks for your help
Carolyn
I'll look around for you as well. I have ordered my findings and clasps wholesale from this company in past and gotten better prices than buying from online bead stores.

You will need to give them your business tax ID and they will send you a catalog; prices change depending on the current market price of silver and gold. I have been happy with them, although I have not placed an order recently. They might have something that works for you, although I can't seem to view their catalog pages online for the gold filled clasps. Good luck!
Lorri Thank you. I just logged and and requested a user name etc from them, this looks like another really good source. Thanks for the help. When I finally get everything figured out, I'll share photos of my solutions.
Thanks for hosting this valuable resource for exchange of ideas and information.
