Good Day - Well, it's hot here down the shore! Love it and my flip-flops are on 24/7! I'm getting ready for the Ocean Grove Craft Festival in NJ. Takes place September 4th. It's a wonderful annual show boasting 5,000 customers and at least 250 vendors. I love attending as a vendor each year and never disappointed with weather, customers and interacting with it all!

ContinueSo even though I said I would bead more often, i didn't find the time. You see, (haha excuse time!) I didn't realize I was going to have to direct a play along with be a narrator and dancer in it. So because of that I have had very little free time and most of my free time goes to packing or getting in shape for color gaurd tryouts next year. Did any of yall do color gaurd in high school? The flag girls with the marching band, not the ones with the jrotc. My sister was a flag girl and so was…

Let us face it already - metal is just outrageously priced right now! This is especially true of gold and silver. I remember back in the day when I could order loads of sterling silver or gold-filled wire and not think twice about the price. The same was true for metal beads that I could use as spacer beads when doing bead stringing. When stringing up beaded bracelets...

Remember back in the 70s when you could find all kinds of owl themed items? It seems owls are making a come back. This owl charm flew in from B'Sue Boutiques, and I have been mulling over a design for it for some time. He is made from brass and then has a rusty black finish. You can find out more about this metal finish in a video posted on the B'Sue Boutiques web site. As she suggests in the video, I took a polishing cloth and rubbed this charm to remove some of the black finish. I think I finally have figured out how I plan to use this guy, so stay tuned for an up-coming owl themed jewelry project.

Cyndi Lavin's new bead embroidery e-booklet, Three Bezels Plus a Bonus, is available for downloading, and it only costs $1! In this new addition to her bead embroidery series of e-books, she includes 30 pages of instructions for three decorative bead embroidery bezels to stitch for 14mm Swarovski rivolis, plus step-by-step advice on how to bezel around an irregularly shaped cabochon. This booklet is aimed primarily at jewelry designers who are bead embroidery enthusiasts but who don't have a lot of experience in creating seed bead bezels. After covering the techniques, she includes a project tutorial that culminates in an amazing finished necklace.
